Vårt Färgglada Kvarter was a series of creative workshops developed for the 2023 summer exhibition. With a focus on representation, the project invited young people and visitors of all ages to create playful self-portraits inspired by their sense of home and community.
Travelling across seven neighbourhoods in and around Värnamo, the workshops turned corners of the Finnvedsbostäder festival into lively creative hubs where participants could explore identity, belonging, and local pride. Through mixed-media portrait sessions, community members of all ages worked side by side, sparking creativity, building confidence, and encouraging cross-generational connection.
The project culminated in a vibrant display of self-portraits exhibited together — a colourful, joyful reflection of the many voices and perspectives within the community.
The collaborative colourful artwork was displayed on the 3rd floor of Gummifabriken.
